To whom it may concern,
You are known as a dream maker and a person filled with generosity from the heart. Today I am emailing you on the behalf of a dream. Before I go into depth of my dream and question of financial offer, I will first tell you a little bit about myself!
My name is Cassandra Schroeder. I was born and raised in Brandon, South Dakota (right outside of Sioux Falls, SD). I have three older half siblings, one older full brother, one younger sister, and one younger brother. I am 20 years old and am currently in my second semester for my sophomore year at Dakota State University in Madison, SD. I am pursuing a major in Elementary/ Special Education at DSU. I decided to pursue a teaching degree, because I am unable to support my real life dream; so I went with the second dream. I have a younger sister, Emilie Schroeder, who has mosaic downs syndrome. Emilie is my foundation of life. She inspires me and keeps my attitude to the highest potential each and every day. At a young age I knew I wanted to make a difference in children’s lives; what better way to do that then becoming a teacher! Currently I am working part time at ECCO Inc. in Madison, SD. I go to a house that houses 11 residents with emotional, physical, and mental disabilities; I help these individuals with everyday life activity such as showering, using the restroom, cooking, cleaning, etc. My goal in life is to make children feel excepted and successful in big and little achievements. I am a strong, driven, independent, optimistic, and positive person. I love helping others and always make an effort to put others before myself.
Even though teaching is a great way to make a difference in children’s lives I have always dreamed of owning an in-home daycare/preschool. I have seen the poverty within the city limits of Brandon, Sioux Falls, and surrounding areas. I have done internships with the schools, volunteered for the Special Olympics Organization, and volunteered at the Food Banquet. I have always felt an interior grief for these American citizens because of the financial burden within America. My proposal is for you to be the financial founder of my dream of an in-home daycare/preschool. I have in my mind a layout of a perfect house/daycare to build as the building that will help parents and children living in poverty. I want to build my perfect house, so I can have children come to the daycare and get nutritious food for meals, beginning and furthering education, and to build a family. I want to run a daycare for low-income families. The price to have child come to my daycare will be based off of the income of the parents. I am hoping that I would be able to provide free service or nearly almost all free service of daycare and preschool within the community of Brandon and Sioux Falls. The purpose of this service would be allowing low-income parents to have an educational and safe place to send their kids during the work days, so the parents can bring in money to the house hold. Daycare can be a major factor on why a family is low-income or cannot attend a daily job. I want to be able to help out those in poverty and my community with giving kids a beginning education and daily nutrition.
The individuals that would be involved in my dream is my family! Emilie who graduates high school next year will have to find some service to work in, her disabilities restrain her from a deep education and major future career. Emilie is like me where she loves making a difference and puts others before herself. She enjoys kids and can teach anybody at any age a life lesson. I would become my sister’s full guardian and have her move in with me to run the daycare and preschool. I would appreciate the motor vehicle of a mini bus for my retired father, Roger Schroeder, to volunteer as the bus driver for pick-up and drop off of the kids of the families that do not have the money to transport the kids to the facility. My father also has been a financial manager for roofing businesses throughout his working years. He would be my volunteer financial handler for the faculty.
Growing up I was always taught that if you can help others in any aspect then take the opportunity. I have worked with children, poverty, and special needs citizens my whole life. These special individuals have taught me the value of life and to never give up. As an average middle class American citizen, I have the opportunity to do the norm. Go to public school, attend college, and live a life in society. Even though I love the idea of being a teacher, I would enjoy life even more for helping those in need by this daycare/preschool. I want to help the citizens of the world and make a difference in a person’s life.
You are the icon I have always looked up to as making a difference in people’s lives without gaining anything, but the love of others and joy of making a difference. Thank You for your time and consideration. I know that you get many e-mails and letters about helping people exceed their dream; and the little’ll hood of you being a financial founder is quite low. However, I figured I had nothing to lose by asking. Thanks for all the inspiration you have put in my life!
Love,
Cassandra Schroeder
